What happens when your contactless prepaid Mastercard® expires?

When your current contactless prepaid Mastercard® expires a replacement card will be issued automatically, free of charge if you used your Pockit account in the last 3 months.

The new Pockit card is usually sent out around 15 days before your current card expires and should be with you within 7 working days.

The new card is sent to the address listed on your Pockit account. If you changed your address recently, please update it as soon as possible, so we send your new Pockit card to the correct address. Find out how to update your address.

Here's how it all works:

  1. Your Pockit card expires on 31st of January
  2. We send you a reminder on 1st of January to check and update your address
  3. We send you a reminder on 10th of January to check and update your address
  4. We send you a reminder on 14th of January to check and update your address
  5. We send you a new Pockit card to the address we have on your Pockit account
  6. Your new Pockit card arrives within 7 working days
  7. Your expiring Pockit card works until you activated the new one or 31st of January, whichever is earlier

If haven't used your Pockit account in the last 3 months — you will be issued an instant virtual Mastercard®, which can be swapped quickly and easily to a contactless prepaid Mastercard®.

In case you have an additional card and haven't used your account in last 3 months you will not be issued a virtual card but you can re-order a replacement primary card any time in your Pockit account free of charge.
