What is the difference between shared and separate balance additional cards?

A “shared balance” card (Mastercard®) is an additional card that has access to the balance on the primary card and can be spent accordingly.
A “separate balance” card (Mastercard®) is an additional card that has access to the balance transferred from the primary card only. In other words, the separate balance account holder cannot spend more than what was transferred to them by the primary account holder.
Both “additional” cards that have been created will be in the name of the other person.
