How do I dispute a bank transfer?

There are a few reasons why you would need to dispute a bank transfer you sent to another person or business in the UK. It could for example be money sent to the wrong account, you need to dispute something you bought, or you believe that you have been a victim of a scam (fraud).

If there is no scam or fraud involved, and the recipient is known to you, please first try to resolve this matter directly with the recipient and ask them to return the money to you.

If the recipient does not want to help, is not responsive, or you think you’ve been scammed whereby you sent a transfer from your Pockit account to the scammer, you can contact us via the chat function or by sending an email, and provide the following information:

  • Transaction details: amount, date and recipient details

  • The reason for the transfer: for example purchasing an item

  • What has gone wrong: for example the recipient blocked contact after money was sent

  • Provide any supporting evidence such as screenshots of conversations

Please bear in mind that if you do not provide evidence or enough information for us to understand what really happened, we may not be able to help out.
